Irish Coffee
The key to a great Irish Coffee is using good-quality Irish whiskey and freshly brewed hot coffee. Adjust the sweetness level by adding more or less brown sugar according to your taste preferences. It's a delightful treat, especially on chilly evenings or as a pick-me-up after a hearty meal. Cheers!
- 1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
- 1 cup hot brewed coffee
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar adjust to taste
- Heavy cream lightly whipped
- Freshly grated nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish
Preheat a heat-resistant glass by filling it with hot water. Let it sit for a minute, then discard the water.
Pour the hot brewed coffee into the preheated glass.
Stir in the brown sugar until it is completely dissolved.
Add the Irish whiskey and stir to combine.
Gently float the lightly whipped heavy cream on top of the coffee by pouring it over the back of a spoon. The cream should sit on top of the coffee without fully mixing.
Optionally, garnish with a sprinkle of freshly grated nutmeg or cinnamon on top of the cream.
Serve immediately and enjoy your warming and comforting Irish Coffee!
