Irish Coffee

The key to a great Irish Coffee is using good-quality Irish whiskey and freshly brewed hot coffee. Adjust the sweetness level by adding more or less brown sugar according to your taste preferences. It's a delightful treat, especially on chilly evenings or as a pick-me-up after a hearty meal. Cheers!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
  • 1 cup hot brewed coffee
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar adjust to taste
  • Heavy cream lightly whipped
  • Freshly grated nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat a heat-resistant glass by filling it with hot water. Let it sit for a minute, then discard the water.
  • Pour the hot brewed coffee into the preheated glass.
  • Stir in the brown sugar until it is completely dissolved.
  • Add the Irish whiskey and stir to combine.
  • Gently float the lightly whipped heavy cream on top of the coffee by pouring it over the back of a spoon. The cream should sit on top of the coffee without fully mixing.
  • Optionally, garnish with a sprinkle of freshly grated nutmeg or cinnamon on top of the cream.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your warming and comforting Irish Coffee!
