Ingredients
- 2 lbs about 1 kg chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup 120ml hot sauce (adjust according to your spice preference)
- 1/4 cup 60g unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons honey optional, for sweetness
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
Preheat the oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Season the wings:
- In a bowl, mix together salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Season the chicken wings with this mixture evenly.
Fry the wings:
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 375°F (190°C). Fry the chicken wings in batches for about 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel.
Make the sauce:
- In a separate bowl, mix together the hot sauce, melted butter, and honey (if using). Adjust the amount of hot sauce according to your preference for spiciness.
Coat the wings:
- Once all the wings are fried and drained, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated.
Bake the wings:
- Place the coated wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through and the sauce is caramelized.
Serve:
- Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve your delicious chicken wings with your favorite dipping sauce, celery sticks, and carrot sticks.
