Irish Coffee
The key to a great Irish Coffee is using good-quality Irish whiskey and freshly brewed hot coffee. Adjust the sweetness level by adding more or less brown sugar according to your taste preferences. It's a delightful treat, especially on chilly evenings or as a pick-me-up after a hearty meal. Cheers!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
- 1 cup hot brewed coffee
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar adjust to taste
- Heavy cream lightly whipped
- Freshly grated nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat a heat-resistant glass by filling it with hot water. Let it sit for a minute, then discard the water.
- Pour the hot brewed coffee into the preheated glass.
- Stir in the brown sugar until it is completely dissolved.
- Add the Irish whiskey and stir to combine.
- Gently float the lightly whipped heavy cream on top of the coffee by pouring it over the back of a spoon. The cream should sit on top of the coffee without fully mixing.
