Mai Tai recipe

Mai Tai

Enjoy your refreshing Mai Tai cocktail! Adjust the sweetness or tartness to your preference by adding more or less simple syrup and lime juice.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz 60 ml aged rum
  • 3/4 oz 22 ml fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz 15 ml orange liqueur (such as triple sec or Curaçao)
  • 1/4 oz 7.5 ml orgeat syrup
  • 1/4 oz 7.5 ml simple syrup (optional, depending on your preference for sweetness)
  • Mint sprig pineapple wedge, and/or maraschino cherry for garnish
  • Crushed ice

Instructions
 

  • Fill a shaker or mixing glass with crushed ice.
  • Add the aged rum, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, orgeat syrup, and simple syrup (if using) to the shaker.
  • Shake the ingredients vigorously until well chilled.
  • Fill a tiki glass or highball glass with crushed ice.
  • Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over the crushed ice.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig, pineapple wedge, and/or maraschino cherry.
  • Optionally, you can add a straw for sipping.
