Caesar salad

Caesar salad

Caesar salad is a classic dish loved for its creamy dressing, crunchy croutons, and savoury Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

For the salad:

  • 1 head of romaine lettuce washed and chopped
  • 1 cup homemade or store-bought croutons
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1-2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the dressing:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. If the dressing is too thick, you can thin it out with a little water or more lemon juice.

Assemble the salad:

  • In a large salad bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce.
  • Pour the prepared Caesar dressing over the lettuce and toss until the leaves are evenly coated with the dressing.

Add the toppings:

  • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the dressed lettuce.
  • Add the croutons on top of the salad.

Serve:

  • Serve the Caesar salad immediately as a side dish or as a main course by adding grilled chicken, shrimp, or salmon on top.
  • Garnish with additional grated Parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper if desired.
